What to Bring
- Stroller, for your toddler to nap in and for your young kid to sit in. They also have stroller rental in the park.
- Lots of snacks, water, juice box to keep the kids entertained while in line. They do have water refill stations through the park.
- Sunscreen and swimsuit, there’s a splash pad inside the Despicable Me section, so make sure to bring swimsuits so your kids can play in it.
- Jacket for everyone in the family, LA getting pretty chilly as the sun goes down and you will need a jacket for sure.
Universal Studios Hollywood App
Download the universal studios Hollywood app on your phone, the app shows you park hours, park map, you can use it to see wait times, show times, and find out where to dine. Unfortunately, unlike the Disney app, you cannot order food on the app. App also tells you the minimum height required for each ride.
Kiddie area
There are a few areas in Universal Studios Hollywood that are geared toward young kids and toddlers,
- Dino park, located at the lower level beside Jurassic World the ride, you can have your younger kids play here while older kids go on the Jurassic World ride.
- Water zone in Despicable Me area, there are over 80 different water play features in the water zone where kids can play.
- Playground right beside the water zone where the kids can play with 1 adult line up for the silly swirly fun ride.
Stairway
There’s an upper lot and a lower lot at Universal Studios Hollywood. Lower lot has Jurassic World, Transformers, and Revenge of the Mummy. There’s also a DinoPlay playground on the lower lot. Everything else is on the upper lot, the upper lot def has more attractions. To get to the lower lot, you’ll need to go down 4 flights of escalators. Young kids with strollers are not allowed to use the elevator, those are reserved for people in wheelchair. So you have to take your kids out of the stroller and go down the 4 flights of escalator. It is best to have 1 parent in charge of kids and the other parent in charge of the stroller, because the stroller is going down the escalator too. It takes a good 10 mins to go from upper lot to lower lot, so once you get to the lower lot, ride all the rides before coming back up. If you keep going up and down you will be wasting time on the escalators.
